December 2011

Austin lost his first and second tooth this month. He didn't want me to pull them but after working on them himself and not getting anywhere, he finally let me do it. He loves to show his new gaped smile. When we were talking about the tooth fairy, he asked if she could bring him gum instead of money. She was happy to do that for him. Now he is thinking about all the different flavors of gum, that way he knows which one to ask for next.

Jon has been asking for eight years to put a wood burning stove into our house. I'm not a fan, so it wasn't easy for me to finally agree. Jon did all the prep work, then a contractor came and finished the job. Jon is very happy to have his fire and I'm happy for the cheaper propane bill.

For Christmas this year both Jon and I had the day off. It was nice to have a day that was just us. The boys slept in until 8, then they waited in the kitchen until it was time to see their presents. They both got a bowling ball, xbox games, and a giant pillow pet. Their favorite was the pillow pet. We just relaxed all day and had dinner later.

Jon turned 31 this month. He had to work that night, so we took the boys to my friend and we went to lunch and a movie. We had a good time just the two of us. The next day I made dinner of his choice and had ice cream cake. For his present, we went for a weekend get a way in Show Low. I will talk more about that in next months post.
